GIVE TO THE Eugene Albert Kane, Jr. Honorary Scholarship Fund

Eugene Albert Kane Jr. passed on April 16, 2020, at the age of 63 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Kane grew up in North Philadelphia and spent much of his adolescence and early adult years there, until his career landed him in Milwaukee. He was a natural conversationalist, correspondent and an award-winning journalist.

Kane attended Temple University, where he majored in journalism and minored in Black studies. As a senior, he wrote stories on a freelance basis for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Daily News. In September of 1984, Kane joined the staff of the Milwaukee Journal. Throughout his career, he was known for his passion for the Milwaukee community and his commitment to calling out racial injustice and inequities.

Edna Kane Williams has established the Eugene Albert Kane Jr. Honorary Scholarship Fund to provide financial assistance to graduates of public high schools in the Philadelphia School District who follow in the footsteps of her brother and enroll at the Klein College of Media and Communication. Your support will enable the college to grow this endowed fund and provide additional resources to increasing numbers of students.
